Overview
The McKernon Group Inc. is hiring a Lead Installation Technician to work in their renewable energy division, Green Earth Energy (Gee). We are a custom home builder located in Brandon, VT since 1987. Green Earth Energy was started as a division of McKernon Group in 2009, installing solar PV, battery backup and heat pump systems.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Heat Pump Lead Installer to join our team. This role is essential for overseeing technical operations and ensuring quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Install Heat Pump Systems
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.


Requirements

  • EPA Certification
  • Proven experience as a technician or in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of technical systems and equipment
  • Knowledgeable in: electrical wiring, refrigerant piping, system evacuation and commissioning
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively work within a team and serve customers
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work outdoors year round
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license

Pay: $18.00 – $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week

About the Role
We are always seeking skilled and reliable carpenters to join our team. The ideal candidates would have hands-on experience in residential and/or commercial carpentry, a strong eye for detail, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. You will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and building plans
• Measure, cut, and shape materials with precision
• Construct and assemble frameworks including walls, floors, and doorframes
• Install windows, doors, cabinets, drywall, and trim
• Inspect and repair damaged structures and fixtures
• Ensure all work meets building codes and safety standards
• Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively
• Collaborate with other tradespeople and site supervisors
• Maintain a clean and organized job site

Requirements
• Proficiency with carpentry tools and equipment
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and building codes
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Physical strength and stamina to lift and carry materials
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
