For many years, we have been transforming yesterday’s barns into today’s houses using a mixture of old-time construction techniques and up-to-date amenities. Our clients see the romance and nostalgia of well-worn farm buildings and we capture this for them to make their unique and comfortable living spaces. In this particular case, the client and our designer teamed up to turn their vision into a spacious and dramatic design within the confines of the traditional gambrel shape of the 18th century dairy barn. The open cathedral and bountiful natural light play well with the original dark timber frame, and there is an interesting combination of open public spaces and four private bedroom and bath areas.
