Our Work

Lake Houses

Vermont and Eastern New York have many lakes to enjoy which attract people for year round vacationing and recreation.  There has been a surge of rebuilding  generational summer homes and converting them to sustainable four season destinations.  Building a vacation home when you live far away should be assigned to a construction company that is trustworthy and has the technology to keep in close touch with photos and dialogue.  One of our recent clients graciously wrote, “Working with McKernon has been so easy;  they are the nicest, most accommodating people I have ever had the pleasure of working with.  And we worked long distance, never actually meeting until the house was nearly done.”

This home speaks for itself as far as siting, style, function and charm.  Architecturally designed and custom built, it blends both traditional and contemporary styling with views of one of Vermont’s beautiful lakes.  There are porches and decks on every level and the 4-season house is designed for family vacations.  It was such a pleasure […]

This renovation involved two early 1960’s camps, which sit on steep property on the shore of Lake George. The owners wished to add living space and update the camps without changing the style of the Adirondack rustic appearances. The terrain was dramatically regraded and stonework was added to the landscaping. The most interesting part […]
