Insulated Concrete Forms

(802) 247-8500

Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) are lightweight Styrofoam forms that create a cavity into which concrete is poured for foundations and walls. The forms are similar to Legos® and are easy to assemble. After the concrete is poured, the foam stays in place to produce a highly insulated concrete wall.

The concrete can be poured well into the winter months, and the use of ICFs can save up to 50 percent of energy costs for heating or cooling. It is eco-friendly in that there is no “off gassing” released into the atmosphere. There is less construction waste and the leftovers are recyclable. The McKernon Group has been building with ICFs since 1998.
