The McKernon Group has expanded its services to meet the increasing demand for light commercial construction. We have the capacity to work with a project from its conceptual stages to completion.

Downtown Brandon Retail and Restaurant
The McKernon Group is proud to have been an integral part of the Brandon downtown renaissance, leading the way with the renovation and construction of 3 important main street commercial retail spaces referred to as the Howe Scale Block.
Country Inn and Restaurants
The Huntington House Inn, built in 1806, was originally the home and offices of 4 generations of Doctors Huntington as well as a country store. The McKernon Group’s restoration maintained this dwelling’s historic integrity while transforming it into the perfect Vermont Country Inn and Tavern that offers a mingling of modern amenities with the charm of those bygone days.
Churches and Covered Bridges
Vermont has so many classic historic churches that are beginning to show their wear from years of use and harsh New England weather. The McKernon Group is able to restore these foundations, roofs and walls with authenticity and care.
This beautiful old church received a grant to repair their porch. Our cabinet shop reproduced this and did an exact replica of the original design. The ceiling was also reproduced in the original bead-board design.
Covered bridges in Vermont are icons on the landscape, and should be repaired by a company who understands their construction. The aesthetics of the bridge are very important as well as the engineering. When a truck came through with the cab raised, and did serious damage to this bridge, we were able to restore it to its original use and charm.
